A beautifully made and proportioned antique wine glass with a multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) stem. The cup bowl has honeycomb molding, and the stem has shoulder and medial knops. With good weight and tooling, this elegant glass stands tall at 6 1/2 inches, with a 2 9/16 inch bowl diameter and a 3 1/8 inch foot diameter. Conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil.

A beautiful pair of antique wine glasses of the light baluster form. Although these are smaller than the usual form for a Newcastle light baluster, the proportion of the pointed round funnel bowls to the stems suggests that they are, in fact, an uncommon pair of NLB's. An antique wine glass of lead composition. This drinking glass has a drawn trumpet bowl and a stem with a trapped tear. The bowl has diamond point engraving with the names Harlord Wright and Frances Chat, followed by the Latin saying flammae felices quas mutuus exitat ardor. Loosely translated, this means How fortunate are those for whom the flames of love burn without change, a charming sentiment for what is a marriage or anniversary glass. This shaving box is a truly wonderful and unusual piece of Americana, and was used to hold and sharpen razors. It was not a common household object, and not many survived from the 18th century. Nina Fletcher Little discusses these charming boxes in her book, Neat and Tidy, and shows a similar example. It is unusual to find such a striking multi-colored basket of such size and in such wonderful condition. The splint basket, with its wooden handle, is from the Northeast area of the United States, and is done in shades of blue-green, orange-red, and brown.

The basket is 18" long, 12" wide, and 14 " to the top of the handle. Overall condition is excellent, with only one splint split on the interior, not visible from the outside.

An extremely fine and tall Newcastle light baluster (NLB) type wine glass. The generous, slightly flaring, pointed round funnel bowl is beautifully Dutch engraved with the armorial coat of arms of Princess Anne, daughter of George II, and wife of Prince William IV, the "Prince of Orange." The stem features a dumbbell knop over an inverted baluster knop, atop a high domed foot.

7 5/8" in height, 3 5/16" bowl diameter, 3 1/16" foot diameter. Please note that the foot is not trimmed...

The standard reference book for this type figure is "Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Era" by P.D. Gordon Hugh. The figure offered here is so rare that the book does not even show an example, although it does have information about the history underlying it...

The diameter is 9 1/4" and the condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or restoration. There are 3 very minor small brown spots on the front due to kiln impurities. It is very unusual to find them in this condition...

This is an extremely fine early 19th century balustroid wine glass made in the 18th century style. It is lead glass, and has a large funnel bowl which sits atop a triple ring collar, below which is a center section of an unusual and uncommon cylinder knop, followed by two angular knops...

It is very unusual to find a true set of 18th century lead glass English roehmers, even in the green color which is the most common. To find this deep and beautiful amethyst color set was truly exceptional.

The glasses have large cup bowls on hollow blown stems with applied raspberry prunts, and collars on the upper portion of the stems. The conical feet have applied trailings, and rough snapped pontils.

The glasses are about 4 1/2" tall, with 2 1/2" diameter bowls and 2 3/4" diam...

A large and unusual double knopped multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) wine goblet of Low Countries origin. The generous bell bowl has a highly uncommon folded rim, and a solid base with enclosed tear, beneath which is a ball knop with multiple tears. Beneath this an inverted baluster knop surmounts the stem, all with the multiple spiral air twist. The foot rim has been polished at a point on the upper and lower surface, but with no loss of width or diameter, and retains perfect presence.
