An extremely fine NLB Newcastle light baluster wine glass with superb engraving of two clasped hands. Jacob Sang often used such a motif and the engraving is definitely of Sang quality, though, being unsigned, it is impossible to definitely attribute it to him. An unusual foil, or tinsel, painting depicting two birds hovering over a large flowering plant. The painting is done basically in tones of taupe and green. The frame is period and is most likely original. The back is sealed with paper that appears to have been a student's calligraphy practice.

Condition is very good, with some very minor paint separation at some points on the edges. The grayish areas in the painting are shadows from when the photograph was taken...

A beautifully made antique drinking glass with a round funnel bowl. A merise separates the bowl from the stem which features a multi-spiral opaque twist and shoulder and medial knops. Lead metal, conical foot with rough, snapped pontil

The height of the glass is 6 5/8", with a bowl diameter of 2 1/4" and a foot diameter of 2 5/8". Fine condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, hazing, etc.

This is a very fine example of a simple, yet elegant First Period Dr. Wall Worcester coffee cup. The painting is very nicely executed, and features a large, loose bouquet of flowers, and other scattered blooms, including a purple tulip. The handle is grooved and there is a gilded rim.

The cup is 2 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 2 3/8". The condition is superb, with no chips, cracks, restoration, or scratches. The enamels are vibrant, and the gilding is 99.9% intact.

A striking antique English porcelain coffee cup. Made at the Worcester factory during the Dr. Wall, or First Period, it is painted with the Pu Tai pattern in beautiful, bright enamels. It shows Pu-Tai, also known as the Laughing Buddha, seated, with two attendants. The cup has a slightly everted rim, a handle of the grooved loop type, and the interior border is gilded in addition to the iron red enamel.

The cup is 2 3/8" tall, with a top diameter of 2 1/8"...

A superb example of a Dr. Wall First Period mustard pot printed with the "Fence" pattern. The cover has a flower finial with molded leaves. The height of the pot is 3 7/8" (plus the lid) and the diameter is 2 1/2".

Not much needs to be said about this piece, other than the condition is truly excellent, with no chips, cracks, paint loss, or restoration. The type mustard spoon that would be used in this pot is shown as item p1124 in this category...

A fine Dr. Wall Worcester sauce boat in the "Two-handled Sauceboat Landscape" pattern, with the oval body modelled with two shell shaped lips and applied with two double-scroll handles with thumb-rests. Exterior is embossed with garlands of leaves which form four circular reserves, each with an Oriental scene. The interior also displays a large Oriental scene. A workman's mark is on the underneath of the base.

Condition of this piece is excellent, especially for this particular form...

An uncommon form (only one or two were part of a full service), made by Worcester in the Dr. Wall period. The design has a central rose surrounded by garlands of flowers in cartouches, all done in a soft European palette. Alternating with these cartouches are others that are pure white, making this decoration very unusual. The background of the dish is, of course, the desirable blue scale made so famous by Worcester.

A Dr. Wall Worcester saucerdish in the "L'Amour" pattern; superb condition; 7.3" diameter

This is a rare and striking folk art example of a tinsel or foil painting. The vast majority of tinsel paintings are of flowers, but this one, as does item a1175, focuses instead on fruit. This particular gem shows a rose colored glass compote with plums, cherries, strawberries, pear, etc. Colors are deep and very vibrant, and include blues, purple, orange, yellow, greens, etc...

A charming folk art, watercolor on paper, portrait of a very pretty young woman. She is wearing a mourning band on each arm, and is sitting quietly on a chair, with the sheet music of "The Julia Polka" on her lap. Since the painting is titled, in pencil along the lower margin, "Julia ???", the most likely explanation is that this is Julia, mourning for the loved one who probably wrote the song for her...

A fine oil on canvas portrait of a young woman in a brown dress and blue lace trimmed hat, with a column and red drape behind her. Stylistically, this would be from the Philadelphia School. Sight size is 30" by 24 1/2" and the overall size is 35 1/4" by 30". The portrait is in its original gilded frame, which is in very fine shape, with the normal minor nicks. The stretcher also appears to be original...

A superb Derby porcelain coffee can displaying a wrecked ship and rescue efforts. This can was painted by George Robertson, whose depictions of ships and maritime scenes are among the most highly sought after and collected items of Derby porcelain. This particular scene, named on the bottom in blue script, is "A Shipwreck After a Storm."

The gilding on the cup, both in the interior leaf and berry border, and throughout the exterior of the can, is of the high quality that Derby was known for. I...

The stem has a multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) extending into the base of the bowl, and features a medial bladed collar. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil. Fine color, striations, and tooling marks.

Condition is excellent with no problems, flaws, or restoration. The height is 6 5/8", a bowl diameter of 2 1/2", and a foot diameter of 2 3/4".

One of the best incised twist glasses you will find, superb in its simple elegance and craftsmanship. The hammered trumpet bowl leads into a stem with tight and beautifully fashioned twists. Conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil.

Wonderful color, tooling marks, and striations. No condition problems at all. Added to this is the unusual height of the glass, at 7 1/4". The bowl diameter is 2 1/2", and the foot diameter is 2 7/8".
