A First Period Dr. Wall Worcester teabowl, of octagonal form, with a slightly everted rim, printed in outline and delicately hand coloured with the "Red Bull" pattern, the borders with half flowerheads alternating with green diaper panels. This is the rare early version of this pattern when Worcester first started using printed patterns. The pattern is based on a Chinese famille rose design from the Yongzheng period and appears circa 1754-56...

A wonderful example of a rare Dr. Wall Worcester tea canister of fluted oval "French shape." There are several variations of the Hop Trellis pattern, with this one being less common. All versions of the pattern are highly collected. In the case of this variety, the upper border is a deep blue, while the lower border is a turquoise cailloute (a lacy network of oval or circular outlines, from the French, meaning "pebbled")...

This is an extremely uncommon Irish cordial or wine glass with a domed helmet foot. The round funnel bowl sits atop a multiple spiral air twist stem (MSAT). The glass is quite heavy and substantial, with a good dark metal, and the weight and thickness of the stem all lead to the Irish attribution.

In perfect condition with no problems whatsoever, the glass is 6 3/8 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 1/8 inches and a foot diameter of 2 15/16 inches.

A fine antique English hollow stem wine glass with a domed and folded foot. Dating around the middle of the 18th century, few glasses of this type were made.

This example has a very strong presence, with a goodly sized round funnel bowl. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or restoration. Good tool marks, color, and striations, and of substantial weight. The height, at 6 3/4", is also greater than is usually found, adding to the desirability...

Another fine example from our personal collection of animal hooked rugs, this one featuring an elephant posed on grass with fruited tree branches descending from the top of the rug.

The rug has a felt border, easily detached if so desired. The condition is excellent, with good colors and some slight scattered wear to the border. The size is 40" by 30".

A beautiful English creamware plate decorated with violet swags with green trim along the rim of the plate and the edges of the swags. Aside from being of unusual structure, the violet color is rare, and the presence of a second color extremely rare.

This type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and featheredge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge...

A rare and beautiful sweetmeat with a double ogee bowl with an everted rim. The bowl is atop a set of 3 merises, below which is an opalescent stem with a double series opaque twist (dsot) composed of a 17 ply spiral band around a lace twist. At the bottom of the stem is a nicely domed and folded foot.

The glass is in overall excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. There is a tiny 1/16" inclusion in the side of the bowl, not at all uncommon and truly of no importance...

A pair of black papier mache wine bottle coasters, each beautifully hand painted with a colorful bird within a red and gilt cartouche. The form is quite rare, with more common versions made of silver or silver plate. Because of the date, and the quality exhibited in these, it is quite probable that they were made by Jennens and Bettridge (fl. 1815-1864), the English firm most respected for this type work.

The coasters are 6 1/4" in diameter and 1/2" in depth...

A sentimental Bohemian souvenir or memento flashed red glass mug, with a nicely curved handle. Etched with flowers and the saying "To My Son." In superb condition, standing 4 1/8 inches tall, with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches.

This glass is a companion piece to g1217, identical except for the floral arrangement on top of the cartouche surrounding the saying.

A fine and stately Dutch armorial wine goblet engraved with the arms of Hohenlohe. The thistle bowl of this glass shows two leopards passant within a crowned shield surrounded by fronds. A narrow band of engraving encircles the rim. The heavy bottom of the bowl has an enclosed tear, as does the huge inverted baluster knop below the bowl. The foot is domed and folded, with a rough snapped pontil...

A beautiful Newcastle Light Baluster wine glass. Superbly Dutch engraved, as the best of these are, with the coat of arms of the province of Holland, the pointed round funnel bowl is on a stem with a teared baluster knop above a central annulated knop above a teared inverted baluster knop. Folded conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil.

The glass stands 7" tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 15/16" and a foot diameter of 3"...

A beautiful set of 6 English antique wine flutes, of exceptionally tall size. The trumpet bowls, engraved with bunches of grapes, vines, and birds, lead down to double series opaque twist (DSOT) stems that are comprised of a pair of thick spiral threads around a central gauze. A superb English sweetmeat glass of elegant form, the flared double ogee bowl with moulded flutes leading into a moulded stem with a flattened shoulder knop and 5 basal collars above a spiral molded domed foot.

This fine example stands 6 1/8 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 3 3/4 inches and a foot diameter of 3 1/4 inches. Perfect condition with wonderful color and tooling marks. Rough, snapped pontil.

An uncommon in-period Kangxi scalloped plate with a Long Eliza figure and a Jumping Boy figure in the central scene. This is actually an indoor/outdoor scene since, to the right of the woman is a window giving a partial view into the house. Immediately surrounding that scene the cavetto is divided into compartments with various symbols, and surrounding that are further compartments, each containing floral motifs. The reverse of the dish with a full Kangxi mark in the center...

A bold and beautiful tinsel, or foil, painting, reverse painted on glass. The subject matter is a yellow and white urn, filled with a bountiful array of various flowers, done in a rainbow of colors. The period and probably original frame is of high quality mahogany, which is very rarely found on this type of work.

A wonderful and strong American freehand watercolor on paper folk art theorem. Strawberries, apples, cherries, and pears, with their foliage, are depicted in bold colors with a whimsical style. They rest in a large bowl with a light brown tint (not stained).

A superb Derby porcelain coffee can displaying a scene of two people on a hillside looking at a town in the distance.
