This is an extremely fine example of a Lowestoft tea canister, made in the 1775 - 1780 period. It is of rectangular form with sloped shoulders and a molded ridge following the outline of the sloping portion. The printed design features flowers and insects. A large and unusual double knopped multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) wine goblet of Low Countries origin. The generous bell bowl has a highly uncommon folded rim, and a solid base with enclosed tear, beneath which is a ball knop with multiple tears. Beneath this an inverted baluster knop surmounts the stem, all with the multiple spiral air twist. The foot rim has been polished at a point on the upper and lower surface, but with no loss of width or diameter, and retains perfect presence.

A superb and early Dr. Wall Worcester sauce boat, of cos lettuce leaf form. This uncommon example is leaf molded, has a looped stem handle, and is decorated inside and out with scattered flower sprigs and insects, finished with raised fruit near the handle juncture. A similar example is shown in S. Spero and J. Sandon, "Worcester Porcelain 1751-1790, The Zorensky Collection", 1996, p. 120, no. 88. This form and decoration is based on Meissen factory pieces.

An early and rare c1754 Bow porcelain sparrow beak creamer painted with oriental scenery. This fine piece had been part of the important Watney collection, and then was shown at the Amor exhibit . The underside has the 3 dot mark and retains the label from Amor. It has been part of our collection for 20 years.

A charming and rare three-footed Bow porcelain stand. The top is marbleized in shades of blue, puce and yellow, while the the open latticework sides are surrounded by dragonflies, moths, butterflies, and beetles done in a variety of colors. This wonderful example is in superb condition, with no problems or restoration whatsoever, and has bright, unflawed painting. The stand is 2 1/4" high, and has a 2 5/8" diameter at its maximum width.

A beautiful pair of antique wine glasses of the light baluster form. Although these are smaller than the usual form for a Newcastle light baluster, the proportion of the pointed round funnel bowls to the stems suggests that they are, in fact, an uncommon pair of NLB's. The bowls have engraved foliate borders, each stem with a shoulder knop, a medial angular knop, and a basal true baluster knop. Gently domed folded feet with rough snapped pontils.

A striking antique English porcelain coffee cup. Made at the Worcester factory during the Dr. Wall, or First Period, it is painted with the Pu Tai pattern in beautiful, bright enamels. It shows Pu-Tai, also known as the Laughing Buddha, seated, with two attendants. The cup has a slightly everted rim, a handle of the grooved loop type, and the interior border is gilded in addition to the iron red enamel.

A First Period Dr. Wall Worcester teabowl, of octagonal form, with a slightly everted rim, printed in outline and delicately hand coloured with the "Red Bull" pattern, the borders with half flowerheads alternating with green diaper panels. This is the rare early version of this pattern when Worcester first started using printed patterns. The pattern is based on a Chinese famille rose design from the Yongzheng period and appears circa 1754-56.

The bowl is engraved "Inny Cavalry", referring to a cavalry regiment in the British Army, first raised in 1689 (and later fighting against the Jacobites) in the town of Enniskillen as Sir Albert Cunningham's Regiment of Dragoons. All this above a cushion basal knop surmounting a beaded knop above a domed and folded foot. Note that balustroids with teared knops are sometimes attributed to Newcastle glass houses.
