This is a charmingly rendered watercolor on paper portrait of an attractive little girl, leaning against a hillock of red flowers amidst green foliage. The artist has chosen to omit details in the background, and, instead, draws the viewer's focus to the subject by limning her dress in a bright blue, and having her hold several flowers in her hand. The work possesses a whimsy and naivete that brings a smile to one's face, as good folk art often does...

It is unusual to find such a striking multi-colored basket of such size and in such wonderful condition. The splint basket, with its wooden handle, is from the Northeast area of the United States, and is done in shades of blue-green, orange-red, and brown.

The basket is 18" long, 12" wide, and 14 " to the top of the handle. Overall condition is excellent, with only one splint split on the interior, not visible from the outside.

Lead glass; round funnel bowl, inverted baluster knop with multiple tears above a flattened knop above a large inverted baluster knop with a tear, basal knop. Rough snapped pontil. A beautiful multiple series air twist (MSAT) wine glass with a flared bell bowl. The shoulder and basal collars make this a highly uncommon and superbly proportioned piece. Perfect condition. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil.

A fine lead antique wine glass, being a true Jacobite multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) glass engraved by Engraver B in Seddon's book. The air twist is very tight and elegantly fashioned. A beautiful and uncommonly small 18th century glass mug, English, possibly a wine mug. Applied trailing at the top and center, with an applied grooved handle. Finely engraved with the name "Clarence Arthur." Polished pontil.

This shaving box is a truly wonderful and unusual piece of Americana, and was used to hold and sharpen razors. It was not a common household object, and not many survived from the 18th century. Nina Fletcher Little discusses these charming boxes in her book, Neat and Tidy, and shows a similar example. This particular example is made from birch, and has chip carved saw-tooth edges, and, on three sides, scribed designs...

An antique wine glass of lead composition. This drinking glass has a drawn trumpet bowl and a stem with a trapped tear. The bowl has diamond point engraving with the names Harlord Wright and Frances Chat, followed by the Latin saying flammae felices quas mutuus exitat ardor. Loosely translated, this means How fortunate are those for whom the flames of love burn without change, a charming sentiment for what is a marriage or anniversary glass. A beautiful pair of antique wine glasses of the light baluster form. Although these are smaller than the usual form for a Newcastle light baluster, the proportion of the pointed round funnel bowls to the stems suggests that they are, in fact, an uncommon pair of NLB's.
