It is very unusual to find a true set of 18th century lead glass English roehmers, even in the green color which is the most common. To find this deep and beautiful amethyst color set was truly exceptional.

The glasses have large cup bowls on hollow blown stems with applied raspberry prunts, and collars on the upper portion of the stems...

A beautifully formed double series opaque twist (DSOT) firing glass of dram size. The ogee bowl with basal fluting surmounts a stem containing 4 spiral threads outside of an inner gauze. The extremely thick foot has a crescent shaped bubble in it which is totally internal and does not break the top or bottom surface.

The glass is 4 3/8 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 inches and a foot diameter of 2 5/8 inches. Rough, snapped pontil...

A multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) glass with an uncommon waisted bucket bowl and a shoulder knop; 6.3" tall, 2.6" foot diameter, 2.4" bowl diameter

A beautifully proportioned and rare English glass cordial. The small bucket bowl on a long stem with a single series opaque twist comprised of 4 fine spiral gauzes, all above a high domed (helmet) foot. 6 3/8 inches in height, bowl diameter 1 3/4 inches, foot diameter 2 1/2 inches.

This is a very fine Dr. Wall Worcester sparrow beak cream jug, dating from the 1765-1768 period. The pattern features brightly painted pomegranates in various stages of development. There is only one other example of this pattern recorded: a coffee cup that was theorized to have been made as a replacement for a Chinese teaset, and was offered in one of the Zorensky sales...

An extremely fine NLB Newcastle light baluster wine glass with superb engraving of two clasped hands. Jacob Sang often used such a motif and the engraving is definitely of Sang quality, though, being unsigned, it is impossible to definitely attribute it to him. The pointed round funnel bowl sits atop a stem with a shoulder knop and a tear-filled medial inverted baluster knop...

A wine glass rinser, rare because of the deep and beautiful red color. Wine rinsers or wine washers were used to cool or rinse wine glasses between courses of meals. Red was, by far, the least common color of glass in this period because of the expense in making since gold had to be added to the molten metal to achieve the color. This is a wonderful example in excellent condition. The height is 3 3/4 inches and the diameter is 4 5/16 inches. Polished pontil.

A beautiful and unusual cordial drinking glass, with a round funnel bowl, the lower half of which is fluted. The stem is of the double series opaque twist type, and is comprised of a 17-ply spiral band outside of a lace twist. What makes this a truly special glass is the domed helmet foot, and the overall proportions.

The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration...

An exceptional American gameboard with a red wash and black painted decoration; compartments at each end for the game pieces; construction is pine with breadboarded ends and wrought nails; condition is excellent with all original surface; one small portion of a breadboarded end has been replaced at some point long ago; 30" by 17 3/4"

Boards of this type (non 8 x 8 squares) are often commonly and mistakenly called checkerboards...

A single series opaque twist drinking glass with an extremely gutsy presence. Single series glasses are rarer than double series opaque twists glasses, and this one, with its round funnel bowl, and opaque twist comprised of a multi-ply outlined corkscrew is a very strong example, with a large foot. 6 inches tall, 2 5/16 inch bowl diameter, 3 1/16 inch foot diameter.

A rare and beautiful double series opaque twist wine glass. The bowl, of uncommon tulip form, sits atop a stem containing two heavy spiral threads around a central gauze. What makes this glass rare, aside from the bowl shape, is that, opposed to being conical, as is usually the case, the foot is domed, a feature very rarely found on opaque twist glasses.

This fine example is 6 1/8" tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 7/16", and a foot diameter of 2 5/8"...

A spectacular and rare 18th century Chelsea porcelain teabowl and saucer, each piece very finely and thinly potted and fulsomely painted with exotic birds and insects in landscapes, with a thin reddish-brown edge to the rims. The interior of the bowl has a flower sprig. Examples of this pattern are almost unheard of, and because of the superb technique, the painting was very probably done by Jeffrey Hamet O'Neal or William Duvivier...

An elegant and very unusual wine glass with a double shoulder collar and a single basal collar. This form is accepted as being Scottish, rather than English, making it rarer. The funnel bowl has leaves and acorns engraved around the rim, the stem with a pair of spiral threads around a lace twists.

5 1/4 inches tall, bowl and foot diameter of 2 1/4 inches. Rough, snapped pontil. No damage, polishing, or restoration.

A wonderful molded pedestal glass with an unusually large pointed round funnel bowl above a crisp 6 sided hollow Silesian stem; folded foot. 6 1/4" tall, 2 3/4" bowl diameter, 2.8" foot diameter

Although the glass is soda, the lead-like ring to it, combined with its extremely high overall quality strongly indicates a Tyneside (N. England) origin.

A beautiful and unusual form dram glass with a thick firing type foot. Drawn trumpet bowl above a double series opaque twist (DSOT) stem composed of heavy threads surrounding a spiral cable. Rough snapped pontil. 4 1/2" tall.

In addition to being a wonderful piece of American folk art, this watercolor and pen and ink on paper gives some good insight into one of the courting customs of the 18th and 19th centuries...

An 18th century antique wine glass, English lead, with a flared bell bowl, plain stem, rough snapped pontil, and folded foot. Simple, but with elegant form, this glass is 6 5/16 inches tall, 2 15/16 inch bowl diameter, 3 1/8 inch foot diameter.

A beautiful Newcastle Light Baluster wine glass. Superbly Dutch engraved, as the best of these are, with the coat of arms of the province of Holland, the pointed round funnel bowl is on a stem with a teared baluster knop above a central annulated knop above a teared inverted baluster knop. Folded conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil.

The glass stands 7" tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 15/16" and a foot diameter of 3"...
