A charming American miniature portrait painting, on ivory, of a very pert young woman. The artist has carefully rendered the details of her attire and accessories, from the feathered hat, velvet head band, the earrings, long gold chain, and the velvet trimmed deep green dress with central bow. The condition of the painting is superb, with no chips, cracks, bowing, or restoration. The brass locket case, which measures 2 3/8" by 2", aside from missing the glazing and rim of the rear aperture, is also in wonderful condition. |
