A rare and unusual full body silhouette of a young girl holding a bird. The piece is watercolor painted on paper, which is the rarest of the three types of silhouettes. It is a testament to the artist's skill that he is able to convey the beauty and grace of the sitter, through such details as the curve of her cheek, the eyelashes, the arms.
The work is in excellent condition, with no tears or repairs, although there is a tiny piece out of the glass in the lower right corner, not really visible unless one looks closely.
The frame, which might be original, as is the backboard, is 7 1/8" by 5", while the sight size is 6 1/4" by 3 3/4".
