As mentioned, many times, for other items listed here, this type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and featheredge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge. This particular plate has an impressed "10" mark on the back, which is probably indicative that the plate was made by the Davenport factory.. Raised on a faux marble socle, the figure is effectively modelled and strongly colored. The condition is superb, with no chips, cracks, restoration, inpainting, or enamel loss. The figure offered here is so rare that the book does not even show an example, although it does have information about the history underlying it. A 6 3/4" dark blue and white Staffordshire plate with a view of Luscombe in Devon (named on the reverse). The plate was made by Enoch Wood & Sons, and has the impressed mark. The condition is excellent, with good color, a crisp transfer, no cracks, chips, or restoration, and practically no scratches. The back could use a cleaning, an easy thing to do.
