A charming 18th century wine cordial glass with a small slightly flared trumpet bowl engraved with leaves and buds. Plain stem with an elongated tear above a conical folded foot. The glass has no damage or repairs, but the foot is slightly uneven and a tad bit wobbly, which does not interfere with the appearance and is of very minor consequence. A distinguished and commanding 7 inches in height, with a 2 1/8 inch diameter bowl and 2 7/8 inch diameter foot.

A beautiful pair of antique wine glasses of the light baluster form. Although these are smaller than the usual form for a Newcastle light baluster, the proportion of the pointed round funnel bowls to the stems suggests that they are, in fact, an uncommon pair of NLB's. The bowls have engraved foliate borders, each stem with a shoulder knop, a medial angular knop, and a basal true baluster knop. Gently domed folded feet with rough snapped pontils. Good lead content, tool marks, and striations ...click for details

An antique wine glass of lead composition. This drinking glass has a drawn trumpet bowl and a stem with a trapped tear. The bowl has diamond point engraving with the names Harlord Wright and Frances Chat, followed by the Latin saying flammae felices quas mutuus exitat ardor. Loosely translated, this means How fortunate are those for whom the flames of love burn without change, a charming sentiment for what is a marriage or anniversary glass. A nice heavy glass of good color. Folded foot with rou ...click for details

A fine lead antique wine glass, being a true Jacobite multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) glass engraved by Engraver B in Seddon's book. The air twist is very tight and elegantly fashioned. The round funnel bowl has a 6 petal rose, and a closed rose bud to its right. On the reverse of the glass is an oak leaf, an important Jacobite symbol which represents the Boscobel Oak, the tree that Charles II hid in. Charles II was the predecessor king to James I, the father of James II, father to James E ...click for details

An important antique drinking glass, a beautiful tall Newcastle light baluster (NLB), featuring the Dutch engraved coat of arms of Kurt Christof, Count von Schwerin. The engraved border has a pair of sitting doves, foliage, and a single dove about to take flight. The large pointed round funnel bowl sits atop an inverted baluster knop, above an angular knop, which in turn is above a true baluster knop. The foot is also quite special and uncommon, being engraved, domed and folded, with a rough, sn ...click for details
